ORGANIC

In recent years BALTUSSEN got more and more involved in organic products. Organic production represents a way of growing without chemical additives. An example is the use of ladybirds against aphids rather than spraying poison.  

Organic products are identified by the European Trade sign. These products are grown without chemical fertilizers, chemical pesticides and contain no synthetic fragrances, colors, flavors or preservatives.  

Organic farming standards are based on preserving the environment, nature and landscape and animal welfare. These standards apply across the European Union. Organic products are controlled by Skal, the Dutch government appointed inspection body.  

Since several years BALTUSSEN has been very active in the processing of organic products. These products are mainly produced under their own brand BIO+. But we also offer them under private labels. The company is one of the biggest suppliers in Europe and offers a wide range of products.  

Large buyers such as Albert Heijn, Plus, Jumbo in the Netherlands and also Delhaize and Carrefour and AlnaturA have purchased our products.
